Perkembangan Teori Manajemen Dan Peranan Manajer Masa Kini

Abstract:

Knowladge about management today can itself be considered to be the result of a long and containuing innovative process. The actual practice of management can be traced back to early recorded history.
Yet, much of impetus for developing management theories and principles grew out of the early 1800s. In terms of management development, there is a question what are the roles of managers? Mintzberg found three general types of manager's roles: interpersonal, informational, and decisional. Based on the arguments presented in this article, the author has come to the conclusion that there is no one management theory always fit with the roles of managers. Nevertheless, contingency theory is much more relecant and accepted.
