Development of Engineering Quality Plan for the RIA Counter

Abstract:

The engineering of a Radioimunoassay (RIA) equipment has been performed at the Nuclear Equipment Engineering Cebter (PRPN). This activity consisted og the engineering of the detector, high voltage (HV) module, Low voltage (LV) modulle, the single channel analyser (SCA),
window and energy controlling counter, USB communication, and the mechanical system to more the 25 sample vials, which include up/down actuator using DC motors capable of lifting weights of over 2 kg, and a stepper motor moving the sample to the detector. The isotope used is l-125. Radiation from the sample is counted by the detector, giving 0,5 us wide pulse which are then transmitted to the SCA and subsequently processed by a computer connected through a Devasys USB counter module. The result of the entry measurement process is plotted in the form of a curve to be compared with a standard curve. To assure the quality of the engineering of this RIA equipment, a quality plan is needed. This quality plan is related to the realization of the RIA equipment, a quality plan is needed. This quality plan is related to the realization of the RIA counter. This quality plan consist of design, procurement, contruction, testing and Assessment.
