Abstract:
Mutu Bahan Bakar Premium Studi Kasus Di Surabaya. Motor vehicles and motor
cycles passed in street in Surabaya city used a gasoline as fuel, and
most of them used a premium fuel.
A parameter of quality of premium fuel
were octane number (ON), lead and sulphur content. These parameter
would effect to performance of engine and emission of motor vehicle. The
objective of this research was to know octane number, lead and sulphur
content of premium fuel in public gas stations in Surabaya city. Using
area cluster random sampling technique was chosen public gas stations.
From 90 public gas stations in Surabaya city were taken 20 public gas
stations, and all of them separate in Center, North, South, East, and
West of Surabaya. And then, sample of premium fuel from those public gas
stations were analysed in Migas Cepu and Sucofindo Jakarta. In
generally, result of this research showed that octane number start from
88,0 - 89, lead content start from below 0,599 - 3 ppm, and sulphur
content start from below 0,0150 - 0,0182% wt, and all values were in
standard limitation from Pertamina. According to classification of the
public gas stations, a certified public gas stations showed that octane
number start from 88,0 – 88,8, lead content start from below 0,599 - 3
ppm, and sulphur content average below 0,0150% wt. While uncertified
public gas stations showed that octane number start from 88,0 – 89, lead
content start from below 0,599 - 2 ppm, and sulphur content start from
below 0,0150 - 0,0182% wt. According to area of public gas stations,
showed that in Center of Surabaya octane number start from 88,8 - 89,
lead content (Pb) start from below 0,599 – 1 ppm, and sulphur content
(S) start from below 0,0150 – 0,0156% wt; North of Surabaya, octane
number start from 88,0 – 88,5, lead content (Pb) start from below 0,599 –
0,81 ppm , and sulphur content (S) average below 0,0150% wt; South of
Surabaya, octane number start from 88,3 – 89, lead content (Pb) start
from below 0,599 – 2 ppm, and sulphur content (S) start from below
0,0150 – 0,0157% wt; East of Surabaya, octane number start from 88,0 –
88,2, lead content (Pb) start from below 0,599 – 2 ppm, and sulphur
content (S) average below 0,0150% wt; West of Surabaya, octane number
start from 88,6 – 89, lead content (Pb) start from below 0,79 – 3 ppm,
and sulphur content (S) start from below 0,0150 – 0,0182% wt.
