Abstract:
Bentonite is used to absorb the dye due to the high surface area and cation exchange capacity.Chitosan is a product terdeasetilasi of chitin which is a biopolymer that is used for absorbing heavy metals, dyes due to the amine group (-NH2)and hydroxyl (-OH)on the chain polimer.
This purpose study was to determine the effectiveness of chitosan-bentonite in the process of lowering of diazinon.Characterization of chitosan-bentonite carried out by FTIR and XRD. Synthesis process by dissolving 5 g of chitosan in 500 mL of 2%acetic acid and then mixed with 5 g of bentonite. The mixture was stirred for 2 hours with a constant pH of the solution adjusted to pH 4.Silencing solution for 0.5 hours. The next stage is to filter the chitosan-bentonite and then wash it off with aquademin until neutral. Diazinon adsorption performed with variation of contact time and concentration to determine the condition of maximum, as measured by UV-Vis.Synthesized with a 1:1 mass ratio of chitosan with bentonite indicate the presence of stretching vibrations of NH (amine)at wavenumber 3749.62 cm -1 which means that chitosan has been attached to the surface of bentonite. XRD results for chitosan-bentonite 1:1 indicates 2 (theha)of 5.76:20.05:21.00. Concentrations of diazinon is absorbed by the chitosan-bentonite 1:1 at the time of 20 minutes is 1.05 x10 -3 mmol /g .
